A Wish for my Children - Evangeline Paterson

On this doorstep I stand
year after year
to watch you going

and think: May you not
skin your knees. May you
not catch your fingers
in car doors. May
your hearts not break.

May tide and weather
wait for your coming

and may you grow strong
to break
all webs of my weaving.

What a little beauty she is, Fiona, and I love these wishes!!

As they get older, their problems get bigger and more complicated. Sometimes I wish it was just about skinned knees again!!

Hugs, sweet friend!!
Blessings,
Becky

She looks just like her daddy in that photo.

Today at the eye doctor, Briana was looking at a magazine with babies. She commented that Baby Kay was much prettier than the magazine babies. She was correct.

What a little angel she is! I like the verse and agree with Becky, the problems get bigger and more complicated.

It's been a hard day for me, missing my prodigal...wishing she was still a sweet little girl like yours♥
