Buttercup!

Darling Baby Kay - we have had a busy day today, with shopping to do, and parcels to wrap for Daddy while he is away! You are going to bed these evenings absolutely exhausted, which means that you are asleep almost before I get back downstairs, but because we are still getting lovely bright summer mornings you are wide awake very early! Thankfully you will sing and play with the dollies in your cot until you drop back over and we don't have to get up until after 6.30.

We have been out in the garden for much of this afternoon because it is dry. You spend your time trying to spot dried leaves to stomp on, to hear the cracking - and also spotting buttercups (because we haven't cut the lawn for 10 days!!) which have to be picked for you and you carry them about all squashed up in your hand in case you lose them! Everything is so interesting, especially things that I would walk right past and not notice, but they don't escape your eagle eye!

Sweet dreams little darling - only 3 more sleeps til Daddy gets home x

Isn't it amazing how they look at the little things and get such pleasure from them. Mary loves to pick the small tomatoes from our cherry tomato plant and eat them immediately! She loves to blow the fuzz off the dandelions flowers that have gone to seed. She calls them her puffer flowers! Have a blessed day:) Elena

Wow, Baby Kay is looking like Toddler Kay. I think this transformation must have happened almost overnight. She is so pretty.

I hope the three sleeps go quickly, and daddy is back with you, to enjoy playing outside. Is he the lucky fellow who gets to cut the grass?

Oh your days sound so wonderful! How I long for those days when life was spent out in the garden watching my little ones just play.

Love the picture! Enjoy your day!

The wonderment of toddlers in the outdoors is something to treasure. They see so much more down at their level--things we adults have just taken for granted for so many years. Baby Kay is "growing like a weed" as we say here in the corn. That's a good thing, but I think all of her adoptive aunties want to keep her as a baby ;-)

Buttercups are such tiny little things for her to notice ~ a little bit of miniature sunshine just like her!
